Nine Stones Close - Adventures in Anhedonia (2024)

The sixth album from this band from The Netherlands.

The band is a sextet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

Three guests added keyboards, samples and guitars.

This album was released three months after their fifth album, Diurnal. I reviewed that album back in September last year and gave it a good rating.

The band sounded like the art-rock era Marillion on that album.

These influences are also returning three months later on this three quarters of an hour long album. There are also a lot of neo-prog here too.

The music is both pretty hard and gloomy. It has an undertone of despair and sadness. A pretty strong undertone, that is.

The vocals is good and the band does a good job on this soulful neo-prog and art-rock album. This is another good album from this band from The Netherlands.
