Moravagine - Moravagine (1976)

The one and only album from this band from France.

The band was a seven piece big band with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, woodwinds, accordion, piano, electric piano and keyboards.

An obscure album re-released through a French re-release label based on Bandcamp. This label in itself, whose name is Replica, is a great, great idea. They have some good albums in the prog and jazz genre. I have indeed reviewed some of these albums during the last fifteen years.

In the case of Moravagine, we are deep into jazz land. There are some eclectic prog influences here. But the music is still jazz.

The accordion is a good addition to the keyboards and woodwinds cascades.

The music is a mix of pastoral poetic jazz and more dynamic, fast jazz.

There is a lot of solos here and the music has a great deal of appeal to those of us who are primary progheads.

The end result is a decent album and one who deserve a lot more attention.
