Karmic Juggernaut - Phantasmagloria (2023)

The second album from this band from USA.

The band is a sextet with a lineup of drums, percussion, theremin, bass, guitars, keyboards, flute and vocals.

Two guests has provided trumpet and trombone.

I really liked their 2018 debut album The Dreams The Stuff Are Made Of. The review is in # 2 of this series of blogs.

The band is listed as RIO/avant-garde in ProgArchives and I am a bit hesitant to review albums in that genre. But their debut album was not particular in that genre and neither is their new album.

The band offers up a mix of jazz, eclectic prog, college rock, symphonic prog and some hints of avant-garde/RIO. The music is both melodic and not so melodic.

The music is most of all eclectic and quirky.

The music is loud and bold. It is hard.....well, maybe youthful and lively is the word. The music is fast with some strange quirky melodies.

The music is also good and this is a band well worth checking out.
