The second album from this artist from USA.
Frank Zappa did the conducting, guitars and vocals.
The Mothers Of Invention was a seven piece band with a lineup of drums, percussion, tambourine, guitars, saxophone and vocals.
Ten other musicians added clarinet, trumpet, violin, viola, bass, sound effects and vocals.
It is claimed that Frank Zappa's first albums is classics. I was not impressed at all by the debut album Freak Out which sounds unhinged and not particular good.
I was therefore approaching this album with some dread.
Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention continues on from Freak Out. The music is psych pop with a lot of theatrical, weird vocals.
The music is weird too.
The madness is more restrained and the ideas are better than on Freak Out. The progression is not very significant though.
This is a decent album and not more than that. I am not won over.
