The debut album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.
This band has caused quite a sensation in their short lifespan. I will get onto why that is so...
Their music is a mix of 1970s hard rock, psych rock and this day and age heavy prog rock. Obvious references are Led Zeppelin, Porcupine Tree and King Crimson. Add some early Pink Floyd too.
The music is pretty hard. It is also pretty quirky and not at least... eclectic. This is not straight forward melodic hard rock.
There are even some ambient stuff here and that is strangely enough adding quality to this album as the music really needed this short breathing space.
The vocals are very good and the band knows what they are doing. The overall quality of the music is very good and this album deserve the praise it has already got in other magazines and blogs.
It will be very interesting to follow this band in the future. I think they are not yet at their best.
