Montes - Cuando Brille El Tiempo (1974)

The one and only album from this band from Argentina.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.

Three guests added drums, electric piano and bass.

This is a very obscure band focused around the guitarist Jorge Montes. He was a member of various bands in Argentina before he went solo and recorded this album. The band then relocated to Bolivia and Equador where they split up and vanished without a trace.

This is the story I have heard and I have therefore included it here.

The music is a mix of hard rock, rock and progressive rock. Early Rush anno their debut album is a pretty good reference. Budgie from Wales also springs to mind.

The vocals are Spanish male vocals and they are rather good. The sound is far better than expected and rather good too.

The music is pretty hard throughout. There are a couple of pastoral ballads here and they are interesting. The guitars are hard and there are some interesting solos here.

The quality of the music is decent enough. It is not hard to understand why this is a forgotten obscure album. It is still an album well worth checking out from wherever it is available.
