Zappa. Frank - Waka/Jawaka (1972)

The 12th album from this artist from USA.

Frank Zappa did some vocals, guitars and percussion himself.

He had help from a long list of other musicians who provided washboard, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, minimoog, piano, woodwinds and vocals.

You never know what you get when you put on a Frank Zappa album. Vaudeville avant-garde pop/rock or jazz.

This album gives us both.

The first half is an eighteen minutes long jazz composition in the vein of what Miles Davis did on Bitches Brew. A good piece marred by a bad sound quality.

Then we get some vaudeville pop again. It is half decent to decent.

The album closes with some decent and good jazz. Some of it with some cajun woodwinds.

The result is a decent to good album. I am not really won over by this album.
