Yesterdays - Saint Exupéry Alma (2022)

The fourth album from this band from Romania.

The band was an eight piece big band on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, moog, mellotron, piano, organ, flute, narrations, male and female vocals.

This band broke through with their 2006 debut album Holdfenykert and got a good following after that. Myself included but I have yet to review or even get hold of their 2018 album Senki Madara. That was their third album.

The band's music is a mix of symphonic prog, folk rock and ethereal pop music.

The vocals are in their local language and they are mostly female vocals. They are very good vocals.

There is a lot of flutes here. The sporadic mellotron and moog adds a lot of 1970s symphonic prog vibes.

This album is long and is clocking in at seventy-four minutes. It has a lot of good stuff indeed and fans of this band will be very happy indeed.

Yesterdays is indeed sailing up to become one of the better prog bands in mainland Europe now. My only gripe is a missing killer track. The music has a lot of good ideas, indeed. There is also stuff here who does not pass my test.

This is a good album and one well worth checking out.
