Tenderton - Tenderton (2016)

The debut album from this band from Norway.

The band is a quartet with a lineup of keyboards, bass, guitars and drums.

This is another new band to me and I became aware of them when they released their second album some weeks ago. I checked out the band and found this digital album too.

Hence, I am starting with the debut album before moving on to the new album next week or so.

The music is instrumental and the Bandcamp promises a good piece of symphonic prog...

.... which is not entirely wrong. There is some jazz influences too. But some rather pastoral symphonic prog is what we get here.

There is no majestic tunes and bombs going off in all directions here. The band takes the more softly spoken path and the music is indeed pastoral.

The keyboards and the guitars takes us through these forty minutes.

A bit mellotron instead of keyboards on some parts here would have done wonders for some of the pieces.

Nevertheless, the music is somewhere between decent and good. This is a more than acceptable debut album.
