The 30th album from this artist from USA.
Neal Morse did the drums, percussion, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
He got some help from a handful of guests who added guitars and vocals. There is also an uncredited choir on this album.
Neal Morse is an extreme busy and creative man. He tours and has been a member of Spock's Beard and Transatlantic since the mid 1990s. His first solo album was released in 1999.
Most of the album released has been within the US symphonic prog genre. This is also a genre visited on this album. Roughly speaking, that is.
Neal Morse is a Christian man and that comes to the foreground on this album. Joseph is the subject on this concept, Christian lyrics album.
The music is mostly symphonic prog. But there is also some praise-me music here and an choir acting sounding like angels. Some classical music, computer generated, also pays a visit on this album.
The music is pretty soft on this one hour long album. Neal Morse is not bringing much news to the table on this album and he is mostly threading water on this album. Those familiar with his music will feel that he is visiting old grounds on this album. It is almost like he is copying himself.
This is by no means a bad album. It is indeed a good album and this album is most welcome. But Neal Morse is operating well within himself here and is not serving up a new, exciting piece of music here.
