Hex A.D - Astro Tongue in the Electric Garden (2020)

The fourth album from this band from Norway.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ, synths, mellotron and vocals.

This band album debuted as a heavy metal band back in 2014 and they has largely flown under my radar until they released this album where the reviews noted their progressive rock influences. That got my radar's attention. I have therefore got their last three albums up for review this summer.

The band members has played in Blaze Bayley, Paul Di Anno (both Iron Maiden) and Ripper Tim Owens (Judas Priest) bands and Absolute Steel. Classic heavy metal background, in other words.

The music on this forty minutes long album is something altogether different.

Take stoner rock, add some power metal, classic hard rock and some progressive rock.

The music is pretty hard throughout. The vocals is pretty melodic though.

Most of the music here is bold and has got a psych vibe. Make that; stoner vibe.

The music is good throughout and this band has come as a surprise to me. This is another band from Norway worth following.
