Melimelum - Melimelum (1976)

The one and only album from this band from Argentina.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, organ, flute and vocals.

This band and album is an obscure chapter of the progressive rock history of South America. Nothing is known about this band and album, that is.

The music is a mix of folk rock, acid psych and pop music.

The music is very pastoral and based on harmonies. Mostly vocal harmonies. The vocals are in Spanish, the language used in Argentina.

Besides of the accoustic guitars and vocals, there are some flutes and organ/piano here too.

There are some really good songs on this album too. The songs are a bit sparse on interesting details.

This is an album well worth checking out.

2.5 points
