Spleen Arcana - The Field Where She Died (2009)

The debut album from this one-man-band from France.

Julien Gaullier did the bodhran, bass, mandolin, guitars, keyboards and vocals himself.

He got help drummer and a female vocalist.

Julien Gaullier was a member of some minor French prog bands before he went solo with this album. Two albums was released. The last one in 2014 and that album is up for review later this month.

The music on this album is a mix of goth rock and progressive rock. Add some progressive metal and you get this album.

The vocals sounds forced but I have heard far worse vocals than this.

The album is just over forty minutes long and music is somewhere between decent and good. The major problem is the vocals and a couple of sub-standard tunes.

If this sounds tempting......
