The fifth album from this band from England.
The band was now a trio with a lineup of drums, bass, chapman stick, guitars, keyboards, synths, piano and vocals.
Two guests added drums and electronic percussion.
Sanguine Hum is one of the more interesting, and one of the best, British bands in the neo-prog genre. That is my honest opinon.
Their platform is neo-prog. But they are most known for their adventures into Canterbury scene prog and fusion.
A Trace Of Memory is a more retreat back to basic neo-prog. There is still some Canterbury scene prog and to a lesser degree, fusion, in their music.
The music is not so quirky and a lot more melodic here than on previous albums. The music is more safe.
The vocals is still very good but some of the life has left the band.
The quality is still good and this forty minutes long album is a reminder how great this band is. It is not their best album but it is still an album well worth purchasing.
I hope to hear a lot more from this album in the coming years.
