Tea Party. The - Blood Moon Rising (2021)

The ninth album from this band from Canada.

The band is a trio with a lineup of drums, percussion, tabla, bass, oud, banjo, guitars, sitar, hurdy gurdy, mandolin, steel guitars, cello, keyboards and vocals.

This is their last album as I write this review. I am pretty certain more albums will follow.

The band has taken over as Rush place as the best rock band from Canada.... or so everyone says.

The band has gone a bit more prog and art rock again after a couple of lacklustre rock/pop/grunge albums. There is a lot of Eastern Asian themes here and some Indian subcontinent sounds. Sitar and tabla is used quite often on this album.

The songs are pretty cleverly composed and they are all somewhere between heavy prog and art rock.

The vocals are good and the musicians does a good job.

This is a good album and one well worth checking out.
