Quásar - Quásar (2023)

The debut album from this band from Argentina.

The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards.

Some guests added vocals on a couple of tracks.

This Bandcamp album was presented to me as a throwback to the 1970s Argentine symphonic prog scene.

Indeed, it is. Quasar has indeed been listening a lot to the albums from that era. Their debut album is a take on this era. That's fifty years after the those days, bands and albums. There is nothing wrong with that.

There are some vocals on the opening quarter of this one hour long album. They are in Spanish and softly spoken. There is a live track at the end of this album too.

Their music is softly spoken symphonic prog in the Latin - American vein.

There are some good keyboards solos in the music and they are adding a lof value and colours to this album.

The quality is somewhere between decent and good throughout this album. It is a more than acceptable debut album and I hope we will hear a lot more from this band in the future.
