Flow - Flow (1970)

The one and only album from this band from USA.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, organ, piano, electric piano, harmonica, saxophones, flute and vocals.

Three guests added additional percussion.

This band is most known for being Don Felder's band before he joined Eagles and then wrote Hotel California, one of the greatest songs from the 1970s. The album was released on a small label and sold next to nothing. Don Felder's wrote extensive about this band and album in his self-biography released some years ago. A good read, indeed.

Don described this band as an avant-garde jazz combo who withered away in substance abuse. That is not far off the truth.

Take psych rock, a bit of folk rock and add jazz. Then add some avant-garde jazz too.

The sound is not too bad. The music is a bit all over the place and not that interesting. The music is sorely lacking in quality. The music is still slightly charming and has some good flutes.

Don Felder did the right thing by jumping ship by moving to California and a stint as the guitarist in then the mediocre Eagles. He then wrote Hotel California....

Eagles fans should and must get this half-decent album.
