Bodin. Tomas - Ambient Cooking (2024)

The ninth album from this artist from Sweden.

Tomas Bodin did the percussion, keyboards, harmonica and vocals here.

He had some help from some guests who provided bass, guitars, saxophone and female vocals.

Tomas Bodin can normally be found in The Flower Kings and other Swedish bands. He has released ten solo albums though and they have all been reviewed in this blog. Well, his tenth album will be reviewed sometimes next week.

His albums has been a mixed bag, to say at least. From more band efforts and neo-prog to ambient music and cinematic prog. His previous album was a remake of the Nosferatu soundtrack from 1922. Not an album I really liked.

Ambient Cooking is another non-prog rock album from him.

The music here is largely ambient soundscapes. There are a couple of pieces of cinematic prog with voices and vocals here too on this sixty-five minutes long album.

Most of it is keyboards generated ambient electronic music and most of it is not particular good. There are a few good pieces but there is not many of these.

This is still a decent enough album but not one of his best albums. I am not won over.
