The fourth album from this band from Great Britain.
The band is a trio with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, flute and vocals.
I reviewed their first three albums in # 2 of this blog and was not overly impressed by their music. The music was a bit too uncomplicated art rock bordering to standard rock/pop.
The band returned again with some more live friendly music. The band has also taken a couple of steps towards neo-prog.
I would now label the music on this album as melodic neo-prog. Yes, there are still some pop/rock here too. But the band has gone in the right direction here. And there is even some pieces of more eclectic instrumentals who are breaking up what could have been a too straight forward sounding melodic album.
We are not talking about complicated music. The quality has improved too. The vocals are good.
The band is nowhere near the elite of British neo-prog bands. Nevertheless, this one hour long album gives the listener some melodic cleverly crafted neo-prog.
Check out this album.
