Yowie - Synchromysticism (2017)

The fourth album from this band from Australia and USA.

The band is a trio with a lineup of drums, bass and guitars.

This is their fourth album and I have not had the chance to sample their first three albums. As I write these lines/this review, the trio are now mixing and preparing the world for the release of a new album.

A forewarning may be needed as their music is very eclectic and fiendish.

Take hyper fast math-rock and add a lot of jazz to it. The result is this album.

This half an hour long album is not for the faint hearted either as the music is very extreme and eclectic. That may explain why it has taken me many years to review this album...... It is not often I review math-rock albums.

Parts of this album is good though and I can understand why their music has a lot of fans. The quality is a mixture of decent and good throughout this half an hour long album.

Those of you who are into jazzy math-rock should ckeck out this album. Those of you who are faint hearted may give this album a miss.

2.5 points
