Scarlet Thread - Valheista Kaunein (2006)

The second album from this band from Finland.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and violin.

Two guests added flutes to this album.

This band album debuted in 2003 with an album which is hard, if not impossible to find. Hence, I have not got it. The band then released three more albums between 2006 and 2014. These three are up for review in this blog.

I am off course starting with this album. A three quarters of an hour long album.

The music is instrumental folk rock. There is some Jethro Tull influences here and some fusion influences in their take on folk rock.

The music is driven by violins who are the leading instrument here. The music is rather melodic with some art-rock rhythms and structures.

The result is a rather pleasing, decent album. There is not many good pieces of music here. Nevertheless, this album makes me looking forward to hearing and reviewing their two remaining albums.
