Sunforest - Sound Of Sunforest (1970)

The debut album from this British - US band.

The band was a trio with a lineup of percussion, banjo, guitars, piano, pump organ, organ, harpsichord and vocals.

There is some uncredited woodwinds on this album too.

This is a much bootlegged album, after Deram/Decca released it first in 1970, who has never seen the light of day on CD. I guess that is just about to change.

Several of the tunes here has been used in commercials and by big corpororations. The rather catchy Lighthouse Keeper has been used in numerous TV programs and movies too.

The music on this album is a mix of acid folk and medieval progressive folk rock.

The songs on this forty minutes long album is both catchy and quirky. They are also melodic and made by some very good musicianship.

It is tragic that this band only released this album. The band and this album has influenced numerous other bands who has gone onto becoming famous.

This is a good album and one of the better acid folk and medieval progressive folk rock albums ever released.
