Morse. Neal - Sola Gratia (2020)

The 28th album from this artist from USA.

Neal Morse did the percussion, drums, guitars, keyboards and vocals here.

He had help from a dozen of guests who contributed with drums, bass, guitars, violin, cello, viola, piano and backing vocals.

Neal Morse is back in the symphonic prog land again. Sola Gratia is music wise in the same vein as Sola Scripture and the two Testimony albums. There is also some pretty huge Spock's Beard references here.

That is good news for his fans. Myself included.

There a lot of this ebbs and flows, these dramatic breaks in the middle of an epic piece of music, on this album. This is classic, classic Neal Morse. Both as solo artist and the major songwriter in Spock's Beard when he was a member of that band.

There are also some rather new ideas here who are very good. Ideas that refreshes Neal Morse's musical universe.

The football terrace chants backing vocals is a bit cringe worthy.

That aside, this is indeed a very good album. A refreshing album that brings hope to Neal Morse's world.
