Trummor & Orgel - Longevity (2022)

The ninth album from this band from Sweden.

The band is a one man band on this album and Staffan Ljungren does the drums, percussion and synths here.

He got help from some guests who has added their strings, synths and organ.

This band/project is new to me. They are regarded as a jazz band. Well, that is perhaps correct.

Longvity sees the band, whose in English is Drums & Organ, venture into the Canterbury scene.

They sounds like a simplified version of National Health at times. The quirkiness of the Canterbury scene is very much alive on the forty minutes long Longevity.

The organ is very much the dominating instrument here. It is helped by drums and percussion. And that is the whole album.

The music is dynamic and quirky. It is also very much simple and less is more based.

The music is also decent to good throughout. Good enough for me to check out this band more and take a deeper dive into their back catalogue.
