The debut album from this band from Great Britain.
The band was a eight piece big band with a lineup of drums, bass, bodhran, violin, guitars, mandolin, keyboards, programming and vocals.
This band is a new band in the British progressive rock scene and they have so far released two albums. Both albums reviewed this winter in this blog.
Kevin McDade and his son Bruce McDade is the core of this band and this album.
Kevin McDade took his songs and experience from his hippie and classic progressive rock days and merged them with the experiences and music from his DJ son and his electronica background.
Two generations & their worlds collides on this album. And that is exactly what we get here. Collisions galore and some sort of unity too. This album takes us from symphonic prog via various genres to electronica and the dance floors in rave clubs.
The songs are pretty long and the vocals is decent. Decent but not good. The guitars and the other instruments are good, though.
This album has such a variety of genres and so many wild, quirky and interesting details that most will find this album bewildering.... in the beginning. That's before it starts to grow on the listener.
This album deserves a lot more attention. It is also a good album and well worth the Bandcamp purchase.
