Henry Cow - Western Culture (1979)

The fourth and final album from this band from England.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, woodwinds, organ, piano and vocals.

Henry Cow was among the five original RIO bands and they have got quite a following.

The four musicians got long careers in other RIO and avant-garde bands and projects.

Their music is dense, very dense avant-garde.

This time around, the sound is also very dark. They sounds like Univers Zero at times. The use of oboe and tuba gives the music a dark feeling.

The music is mostly acoustic on this forty minutes long album.

The music is somewhere between decent and good. Which tells you that I am not one of those who worship this band.

I am not a fan of this band but this album is not too bad.
