Vienna Circle - White Clouds (2009)

The debut album from this band from United Kingdom.

The band is a duo with the a lineup of bass, guitars, piano, keyboards and vocals.

Two guests added drums and female vocals.

The band is the brothers Paul and Jack Davies. They have so far released three albums and all of them are up for reviews this spring in this blog.

White Clouds brings us almost an hour full of neo-prog with some folk rock and symphonic prog influences.

There is some Mostly Autumn and a lot of Genesis influences in their music. There are also some Marillion influences here.

The music is really dynamic and pretty hard. There are also some more piano driven poetic pieces here.

The music is not very complex and epic. It is more melody driven than complex.

The result is a good album. It is an album and a band should be regarded as a welcome addition to the British neo-prog scene.
