The seventh album from this band from Canada.
The band was a trio with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
A handful of guests added keyboards, synths, programming and backing vocals.
The band returned to a scene where the NWOBHM scene had taken over the hard rock scene and they had got some good company from the hairspray scene in Los Angeles too. So Triumph and the hard rock bands from the 1970s were under heavy (metal) attack from all directions.
But Triumph played on.
The sound has been modernised and the band now sounds like a 1980s band..... Nevertheless...... The band has also incorporated some very notable Led Zeppelin influences in their music.
I am not a fan of the 1980s sound. Nevertheless, the band has actually managed to come up with some improvements to their music. The Led Zeppelin influences has added some real value to the songs where the band has plundered Led Zeppelin.
The vocals is as always good and the band does a good job. There are some cringeworthy castrato vocals here though and some heavy metal stuff we could have been without. Still.... this is a decent to good album. Check it out.
