Hanlon's Razor - Paradigm (2021)

The debut album from The Netherlands.

The band was a trio on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, mandola, keyboards and vocals.

A guest added his bass to this album.

Hanlon's Razor is a bit of a strange band..... At least on this album. The band released their new, second album earlier this year and I will review that album later this week.

Back to their music.... Let's start with art-rock and add a lot of eclectic prog. Eclectic prog in the vein of King Crimson anno their Beat album.

There are also some pretty strong americana and psych rock influences here.

This album is a bit of a challenge. Challenge because it falls way short of the quality level I foolishly expected from this album. Dutch progressive rock normally has some pretty high standards.

The songs here are not particular good. Neither is the vocals and the guitars. The result is a decent album but nothing more than that.
