Nautilus - Fathom (2009)

The second and final album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, narrations and vocals.

A guest added saxophone on one track.

Their 2004 debut album was an instrumental prog/cinematic rock album. It did not really impress me either so my expectations for this album was low.

The music here is big and bold. It is a mix of pomp rock, art-rock and neo-prog.

The music on this forty-two minutes long album is also a mix of long and lingering instrumental pieces and proper songs.

The vocals are good and the saxophones are adding some colours to the music. The more 1970s keyboard sound is adding quality to this album.

This album is an improvement on the debut album and a fairly good album. It is an album well worth checking out.
