Miller. Rick - Immortal Remains (2013)

The 10th album from this artist from Canada.

Rick Miller did the drums, bass, synths, guitars and vocals himself.

He had help from half a dozen of guests who provided guitars, cello, violin, flute and spoken words.

Rick Miller started out as an ambient/new age artist. He got a good career out of that before he changed genre and became a progressive rock artist. I believe his a successful artist also in our genre.

His music on this album is pretty silently spoken, understated and dark neo-prog.

There is also some symphonic prog influences here and a lot of Pink Floyd influences.

The music is not very technical or full of quirky details. It is rather very melodic though and offers some nice listening. The ambient music has never really left Rick Miller and there is subtle ambient music scattered around the album.

The result is again a good album from Rick Miller.

I am looking forward to continue my reviews of his albums this summer.
