Ghost. The - When You're Dead One Second (1970)

The one and only album from this band from Great Britain.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of tambourine, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, piano, organ and vocals.

This band was founded by Paul Eastman, a cousin of Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath. The Ghost was supposed to be an occult folk rock band in the same vein as Black Sabbath was an occult hard blues band.

We get folk rock here with some psych and prog rock influences. Acid folk is a label I would put on most of the songs on this album. Occult ? Not something I have noted.....

The vocals are both male and female. The female vocalist Shirley Kent delivers some very good vocals and these are the highlights of this album.

The songs are fairly decent and there are a lof instruments here. In other words, this is not a bare-bones folk rock album. It is more a crossover between a psych rock and a folk rock album. It even has some good guitar solos.

The result is a decent album indeed. Some has labeled it as a cult album and/or as a semi classic album. That may be so as this is one of the more remarkable folk rock albums from England.

Check it out.
