The second album from this band from Iceland.
The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, piano, synths, programming and vocals.
Two guests added strings and woodswinds.
This is a new band to me as I do not have their debut album. I may get that one based on this album.
Nothing, besides of a live album, has been heard recorded from this band after the release of that live album either and I fear the worst.
Their music is a blend of Marillion, Gazpacho, art rock, a bit jazz and a lot of post metal.
The opening songs are in the Marillion and Gazpacho vein before the post metal takes over with some avant garde and growls.
The clean vocals are great. It is some of the better vocals I have reviewed/heard this year. They are a bit like Morten Harket from A-Ha.
The rest of the band also does a very good job on this fifty minutes long album.
The result is an enticing, very good album.
Check out this Bandcamp album.
