The seventh album from this band from Norway.
The band was a quartet on this album with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.
The band had some help from guests who provided guitar, synths, flute and choir.
The band had left their one dimentional viking metal roots behind them and started on a journey as an avant-garde progressive viking metal band.
Progressive avant-garde metal is what you get here.
The band tries out a lot of stuff on this album. Mostly done by their new lead guitarist Arve Isdal... a band member who are still in the band anno 2022. The next album would see a major clean out of the band.
The music is pretty dissonant and chaotic here. There is not many good details and pieces of music here.
Nevertheless, this is an album that reminds me a lot about King Crimson and some of their albums. It is also an album somewhere between decent and good.
Check it out if both King Crimson and viking metal is your thing.
