Mamma Non Piangere - N.3 (2016)

The debut album from this band from Italy.

The band was a seven piece big band with a lineup of glockenspiel, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, mandolin, cello, violin, banjo, accordion, keyboards, electronics, saxophone and vocals.

Three guests added percussion, woodwinds and keyboards.

This rather semi-famous band released three albums between 1979 and 2016. Their second album released in 1980 is a live album and I have therefore bypassed that album as I do not review live albums.

The band returned again thirty-six years later for another album with RIO/avant-garde prog.

The music reminds me a lot about circus music. It also reminds me a lot about the cheeky, silly music you got in amusement parks who had no license to broadcast proper music. The type of amusement parks normal people would avoid back then but is now looking back at with a lot of nostalgia.

Chamber rock is what the band would call this music and that with good reasons. The concept is chamber music. Weird and eclectic avant-garde chamber music.

We get fifty minutes of this.

The vocals is good and the music is not too bad. It is an aqcuired taste and avant-garde fans would really like this album. On it's own right, this is a decent album and not bad at all. Check out this band.
