Porto Di Venere. Il - E Pensa Che Mi Meraviglio Ancora (2021)

The debut album from this band from Italy.

The band is a sextet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, guitars, cello, keyboards, saxophones, violin, electric violin, samples and vocals.

The band was supported by a trio who added saxhorn, guitar and bass.

The band is new. But the two guys behind it is veterans from bands like Finisterre, Moongarden, La Maschera Di Cera, Il Nomadi, Franco Battiato and Submarine Silence.... just to mention a few of their bands. Yes, step forward Maurizio Di Tollo and Cristiano Roversi.

I have by pure accident just published a review of Maurizio Di Tollo's solo album from 2015. A classic RPI album.

And the same can be said about Il Porto Di Venere's debut album too. Classic but still contemporary sounding RPI with a lot of symphonic prog at it's core.

This album can and should be labeled as contemporary RPI.

And it is every RPI fans joy and pleasure.

Great Italian vocals and the typical RPI sound with it's basis in symphonic prog and Italian folk-pop music.

Added to this is some really great guitar solos too.

Oh yeah... I am happy with this great RPI album. As happy as a pig in mud.
