Fermáta - Generation (1981)

The sixth album from this band from Slovakia.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, Moog and keyboards.

Two guests provided harmonica and saxophone.

This band was still trapped behind the Iron Curtain at this point and trapped in a artificial state called CzechSlovakia. A state founded on the old Habsburg empire after world war on, one hundred years ago. They split up two decades ago.

But Generation was recorded and released under an autocrat suppression and this album was not distributed in the west. I am though trying to find out if this was the case.....

Their first five albums are of a very high standard and I was really looking forward to this one too.

We are again getting fusion and jazz of a high standard.

The music on Generation is not as edgy as on previous albums, though.... But we still get some good guitar solos.

This is another quality release and a good album from this band. A band that deserve a lot more attention.
