Wolf - Canis Lupus (1973)

The debut album from this band from United Kingdom.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars, violin, viola, keyboards and vocals.

Ian McDonald from King Crimson added piano and tambourine. He is also the producer of this album.

This band was put together by Darryl Way from Curved Air. He joined up with the US musician Derek Messekar and the two UK musicians John Etheridge and Ian Mosley. John is today a member of Soft Machne, whom he joined in 1975'ish and Ian Mosley is now a member of Marillion.

The band released three albums and all of them will be reviewed this winter in this blog.

Darryl Way is mainly a violinst and that instrument is all over this album.

An album with music as diverse as fusion, symphonic prog and eclectic prog.

The music is weird and pretty wonderful at times. Quirky is a word that also springs to mind.

The music is always interesting and very good. I am postive surprised by this album and I get the feeling that this band will be one of those I will rate very highly when I have finished of reviewing their three albums.
