Tabletom - La Parte Chunga (1998)

The fourth album from this band from Spain.

The band was a nine piece with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, drums, piano, keyboards, saxophones, flute and vocals.

The band is back again with a cover art-work which I guess is taken from a spaghetti western movie. Which is setting the scene for this album....

Take some brass rock, add some fusion and some ska.

This with Robert Gonzales good, but pretty wild vocals.

There are some Latin - American and a lot of Spanish rock here too. There is also a lot of influences from ska bands like The Specials.

We get three quarters of an hour of this and the music is not bad. Untraditional is the word.

The result is a decent to good album. It is an interesting and an untraditional album from a very interesting band. A band who does not follow the wide, easy going path.

2.5 points
