The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and vocals.
A string ensemble added their strings to a couple of tracks.
The band had taken a five years long album break. Some singles, EPs and boxes was released and the band toured and gigged quite extensive during the album break. And the band finally split up with their original bassist as his second tenure in the band had not worked out.
So a fresh Voivod hit the studio.
You never know what you get from this very unpredictable band. In this case, take a bit thrash metal, add a bit grunge and a bit psych rock. Then add some heavy metal. Add some fusion too and a hint of jazz.
The strings adds some weirdness and quality to a couple of psych rock leaning tracks.
The vocals is good and so is the music. This is a weird album but it is also a good album from a band who always deliver plenty of food for thought.
