The third album from this band from Sweden.
The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, trumpet and vocals.
I have been reviewing their first two albums this winter and they are both pretty good.
Take 1970s Scandinavian symphonic prog, add some heavy prog and a lot of neo-prog. That is when you end up with a band like Soniq Circus and their first two albums.
Soniq Circus has moved more into Scandinavian symphonic prog on this album. There is still a lot of neo-prog and heavy prog on this album. But the balance has shifted towards symphonic prog.
I gather that this is concept taking us through two or more albums. This album was released in April last year so we may be close to the release of # 2 of this concept.
The vocals are good. The music is not really as good as their second album, the now twelve years old Reflections In A Hour Glass.
Nevertheless, this is a good album and I am eagerly awaiting # 2 of this story.
