The debut album from this band from Norway.
The band is a quintet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and keyboards.
This is a new band to me and they are coming from the Stavanger region of Norway, the oil and gas producing capitol of Norway.
Norway also produces a lot of math-rock bands, progressive rock bands, metal bands and jazz/fusion bands. This band is one of these products and it straddles all these four genres.
Technical metal is what they want to do. And yes, the main component here is instrumental progressive metal. The fusion, math and prog rock elements is also very much adding quality and lights to this one hour long album.
That is what is making this album so interesting. That and the good melodies and hooks. The band understand that to make instrumental metal/rock working, there has to be something extra that replaces the vocals. That something extra has been added by a lot of tasty keboards and guitar themes.
The result is a good album and one math rock, prog rock and metal fans should check out. I hope we will hear a lot more about and from this band in the future.
