Metrognom - Twangyluck (2006)

The one and only album from this band from Norway.

The band was a quintet with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, saxophone, woodwinds, theremin, organ, mellotron, keyboards, minimoog, synths and spoken words.

One hour of instrumental music is not something I really enjoy most. My hopes were very low before the first listening session.

The music here can best be described as a mix of Camel, King Crimson, Soft Machine and the Swedish folk and symphonic prog scene.

The sound is mid 1970s and that is the feel and ambience this album has.

The music is dynamic and based on organ, mellotron, minimoog and saxophones.

The music is also groovy and the melodies are pretty good.

Those into retro prog from the 1970s with a modern twist should check out this album. An album I hope will get a re-release soon. It deserve it.
