Zappa. Frank - Burnt Weeny Sandwich (1970)

The eight album from this artist from USA.

Frank Zappa did the guitars, organ and vocals on this album.

He had help from a dozen other musicians who added drums, percussion, bass, guitars, violin, woodwinds, piano, keyboards and vocals.

His seventh album, Hot Rats, was the first ever Frank Zappa album I really gave a good rating. The previous six albums is of a poor standard although a lot of them are loved by a lot of people.

I am more interested in music than samples and kindergarten and cultural ditties.

Frank Zappa has retained a lot of the jazz from Hot Rats and blended the jazz with some pop tunes and ditties.

This time, the ditties and the pop tunes is not that bad. Some of them are rather good. The few neo-classical bits here are pretty cool.

The jazz bits has a notable drop in the sound quality and that is not so good. These bits are still pretty good, though.

The result is a forty minutes long album with a lot of varied stuff. Most of it is working but some of it is not. There is no scary bad stuff here though.

This is an acceptable album and pretty close to being a good album.
