Groundhogs - The Two Sides of Tony TS McPhee (1973)

The seventh album from this band from England.

This album is in reality a solo album from Tony McPhee. He did the synths, guitars, electric piano and vocals here.

Tony McPhee had been really fascinated by the synths and electronics he, due to a physical accident, he used on the previous Groundhogs album Hogwash.

Hence he wanted to take this a bit further on what is really an experimental solo album.

The two sides of him also includes some raw, basic blues created by his guitars. He had recovered enough to be able to play guitars and that is the first half of this forty minutes long album. Guitars and raw vocals.

The second part of the album is spoken words and synths.

Both sides are OK and decent. It is not a particular interesting album.

Nevertheless, this is a decent album. I hope the next, real Groundhogs album is better than this one.
