Electric Orange - Psi Hybrid (2021)

The 14th album from this band from Germany.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of dobro, glockenspiel, percussion, drums, bass, guitars, organ, piano, electric piano, harmonium, synths, samples, programming and vocals.

A guest added flute and saxophone.

The band returned again after the rather good Encoded album from the year before. I reviewed it some time ago and I pretty much liked it.

This band has been operating somewhere between krautrock and space rock on their albums. There has been a lot of avant-garde pieces of music on their albums too. Other pieces of music has been more easy accessible.

This seventy-two minutes long album is an album where ambient music, cinematic rock and krautrock is being explored.

The music is pretty avant-garde throughout without being too excessive avant-garde. The music is also mostly dreamy and laidback.

There are some vocals here but most of the music is instrumental and mostly driven by a combination of guitars, synths and computers.

One of the track has some good saxophones too.

The music is a mix of good and decent pieces of music.

This is not one of their finest albums. Nevertheless, this is an album worth checking out.
