The third album from this band from New Zealand.
The band is a ten piece big band with a lineup of drums, percussion, bass, guitars, keyboards, piano, synths, strings, woodwinds and vocals.
New Zealand has not the most productive of the progressive rock scenes. There is not much music coming from these two islands, full stop.
But Mice On Stilts is one of their biggest contributions to the world of music.
I really liked their second album and it got a good rating in the first issue of this blog, # 1. Good pastoral prog.
The music on I Am Proud Of You is a mix of Muse, Radiohead, Gazpacho, a bit Coldplay and some Genesis and Pink Floyd.
Pastoral, gentle and elegant music in other words.
There is not any really outstanding piece of music on this album and that is the only gripe I got with this album.
This is still a very good album and one to check out.
3.5 points
