Unifaun - Unifaun (2008)

The one and only album from this band from Sweden.

The band was a duo of Christian Bonamici (keyboards) and Nad Sylvan (drums, bass, percussion, guitars, keyboards and vocals).

A guest added drums on a couple of tracks.

This project was formed in a Genesis fan forum where Bonamici wanted feedback on a tribute to Genesis track he had written. Nad Sylvan got in touch and suggested both a band and a record.

The result is this seventy-five minutes long album.

The music is very similar to Genesis indeed. It is not a Genesis rip-off album, though.

The music is based on this duo's own songs. None of them has stolen Genesis melodies or riffs. This album still has the feeling of an unreleased Genesis album, the gap between Wind & Wuthering and Then We Were Three.

The sound is very good and ditto for the vocals. A couple of better songs would have been an asset to this album.

Nevertheless, Genesis and symphonic prog fans will really like this very good album. It is one of those sadly slightly obscure albums who deserve a lot more attention.
