Cirkel - The First Goodbye (1983)

The one and only album from this band from Holland.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of percussion, drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and vocals.

A guest added acoustic guitars on one track.

This band was a short lived band and their album released on a small record label before Musea re-released this album with lots of bonus tracks. I am reviewing the original album.

The band is one of the first ever Dutch neo-prog bands and is therefore of some value to those of us who are collecting Dutch neo-prog.

Neo-prog from the 1980s is what we get here.

The vocals is very much in the new romantics vein (Human League springs to mind) and the sound is pretty thin.

This is not the muscular neo-prog who the neo-prog later developed into. This is pretty poppy, songs orientated neo-prog in the vein of Pendragon.

The quality is barely decent. But it is still decent enough and this album deserve it's status as an obscure album.
