Ixthuluh - Yes, We Are A Jazzband (1976)

The debut album from this Austrian band.

The band was a quartet with a lineup of drums, bass, guitars and saxes.

This band recorded and later released six albums in the 1970s. They were all released back in 2005 on CD. I got their first five albums and will review them this winter.

The band was a jazz band.... mostly.

There is a lot of blues and some Soft Machine'ish jazz too on this album.

There is also some avant-garde and jam based music on this album.

I believe some of the music, if not all of the music, was recorded on one take, live in studio. That would explain a lot.

The sound is not good and neither is the music. The album is over seventy minutes long and it feels like a compilation of tapes thrown together.

The music is decent enough but the way it has been compiled onto one album is not. Hence.....
